Longitude 0°8' is one of the most sophisticated venue for after-office and pre-dinner drinks in London. 

A broad menu of premium spirits and specialty cocktails is available alongside a delicious array of complimentary tapas-style hors d'oeuvres prepared by Le Méridien's award winning culinary team. 

Franz Xaver Zauner is Assistant Food & Beverage Manager, at Le Méridien Piccadilly. He is sharing his love for the hospitality business and his care for customers' service.


Can you please tell us more about you? What is your background? How long have you been working at Le Méridien Piccadilly?

I was born in the Austrian countryside and grew up in a family owned restaurant, managed by my father, so I have always had a passion for the food and drinks industry. Growing up in this environment, there has never been a doubt which industry I wanted to work in one day!

I have been with Le Méridien Hotels & Resorts since 2009 firstly in Vienna, before moving to London in 2011 to join Le Meridien Piccadilly. I started off as Assistant Bar Manager and was fortunate enough to work alongside Boris Ivan, currently Bar Manager at Galvin at Windows for almost 2 years. In June 2013 I was promoted to Assistant Food & Beverage Manager and I now look after our Terrace Grill & Bar, Longitude 0°8’, Executive Lounge, In-room dining and our Conference & Banqueting department.                                                                                                                             

Tell us more about your venue, Longitude °08 what is so special about it?

It’s an intimate Cocktail bar in the heart of the West-End. Live entertainment on Thursdays, monthly mixologists choice promotion in partnership with premium spirits like FAIR. , seasonal cocktail menus and homemade bitters – we are consistently working to create a new perspective for our guests. We like the unexpected and use our homemade ingredients to offer classics with a twist.

What do you like about FAIR. ?

That it is a premium product yet still sustainable and ethical. The appreciation of its ingredients, enjoyment of a FAIR. Rum based Old fashioned and of course, the attractive bottling!

What is your favourite cocktail made with FAIR. ?

FAIR. Fashioned
FAIR. Fashioned, created by my Head Bartender Naresh during “FAIR. Rum Mixologists choice” promotion last September. A brown sugar cube soaked in homemade grapefruit bitters, Pierre Ferrand Dry Curacao, based on FAIR. Rum and a dash of fresh grapefruit juice.
